Srinagar, Jun 20 (KNO): Peoples Democratic Party (JKPDP) leader Zuhaib Mir on Saturday alleged a major recruitment scam in Jammu and Kashmir, claiming that nearly 25,000 appointments were made across 29 government departments through private agencies without public advertisements, competitive examinations or a transparent selection process. Addressing a press conference here in Srinagar, Mir as per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), alleged that vacancies in departments such as Health, Education, Social Welfare and others were filled through outsourced agencies instead of established recruiting bodies like the Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) and the Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB). He said around 200 private companies were engaged to carry out recruitments and questioned the process through which these agencies were selected. “The biggest question being asked by the youth is who got these jobs and how they were appointed. Nearly 25,000 appointments have allegedly been made, but the public was never informed about these vacancies,” Mir said. The PDP leader also alleged that no public advertisements, notifications, written examinations, interviews or merit lists were issued before the appointments were made. Mir added, private agencies allegedly created online application links that remained active for a limited period and were circulated among select individuals. He said the wider public and unemployed youth were never made aware of the vacancies, depriving deserving candidates of an opportunity to apply. Mir further alleged that the appointments largely benefited political workers and favourites, while thousands of educated unemployed youth remained unaware of the recruitment process—(KNO)
